Bilingual phone service

One number, two languages. English on the phone — in guided pilot.

More and more customers, guests and patients speak English. Voxori answers in clear Dutch by default. English on the phone — understanding English-speaking callers and replying in the same language — is something we currently enable only in a guided pilot: we call along with you on your own line, in both languages, and make it permanent only once it demonstrably works there. No menu, no second number.

Join the pilot at signup or later — we plan it together · by default Voxori stays in Dutch.

A receptionist who mirrors the caller's language

A menu with 'press 2 for English' feels dated and drives callers away. Voxori does it differently: she listens, recognises that someone speaks English and switches along immediately. For the Dutch caller nothing changes — they're simply helped in Dutch.

Handy for restaurants in tourist cities, clinics with international patients, estate agents with expat clients and any business that also serves customers beyond the Dutch market.

What bilingual mode does

Dutch and English, no hassle.

Switches to English — in pilot

If the caller starts in English, Voxori follows along — no menu, no 'press 2 for English'. This part is in a guided pilot: we switch it on per line only after test calls in both languages. By default she stays in Dutch.

Books just as well in English

An English-speaking customer makes an appointment or reservation the exact same way, with the same direct booking into your calendar.

SMS confirmation in the right language

The confirmation and reminder come in the language of the call, so the English-speaking caller understands exactly what's there.

One number for all your customers

No second line or separate number. Dutch and English callers come in on the same number and are both helped properly.

The same honesty in both languages

In English too, Voxori states she's a digital assistant and only says 'booked' when the appointment is genuinely confirmed.

Transfers when needed

A question beyond her knowledge or an emergency? Voxori transfers an English call just as neatly to you or your team.

Who is this for?

For any business that also serves English-speaking customers: restaurants and hotels in tourist cities, dentists and clinics with expat and international patients, estate agents, consultants and webshops with customers abroad. Take a look at the industry pages for your sector.

Honestly bounded

What is not on the line yet

This is the module with the sharpest line between what works and what is in pilot. So, explicitly:

Switching language mid-call is switched off. On 23 June 2026 the multilingual listening model turned out to mistake Dutch over a phone line for Spanish or Russian — a Dutch caller came out as nonsense in the transcript. Since then a line listens in its own primary language, and live switching sits behind a pilot switch that is off by default. That is deliberate: one language that is right beats two that work some of the time.

Two switches, both off by default. We have to release it platform-wide and it has to be on for your line. That way switching it on only touches the lines we have actually tested in both languages, rather than everyone with a bilingual setting at once.

On text this does not apply. Chat, WhatsApp and email use no speech recognition. English simply works there — the limit above is about the phone line only.

It is not an interpreter. Voxori holds a conversation in one language; she does not translate between you and your customer, and does not produce a transcript in two languages side by side.

What does it cost?

We charge nothing for English on the phone right now: it runs as a guided pilot. You start on Voxori Base (€79/month) or Voxori Complete (€319/month), with €0 setup and monthly cancellation; the bilingual track we switch on alongside that, together with you, and test with calls in both languages. If it becomes a permanent part of your line, we agree up front which module covers it — you are never billed silently for something still in pilot.

Frequently asked

Questions about bilingual mode.

How does Voxori know whether to speak Dutch or English?

Voxori starts in Dutch by default. With the bilingual track enabled on your line, she recognises that the caller speaks English and switches over for the rest of the call — the caller chooses nothing and presses no key. That track is currently a guided pilot: we enable it per line, after test calls in both languages.

Does this work on the same phone number?

Yes. You don't need a second number or a separate English line. All callers come in on your existing number; Voxori adapts to the caller's language per call.

Can Voxori also schedule and confirm appointments in English?

Yes. The whole conversation — answering questions, scheduling an appointment or reservation, the SMS confirmation — runs in the same language the caller uses.

Which plan includes the bilingual option?

The bilingual track runs as a guided pilot, so we don't charge for it yet. You sign up, we set it up together and make test calls in both languages. Only once it demonstrably works on your line do we make it permanent — and agree up front which module it falls under. We never quietly switch on a language and put a price on it.

Besides Dutch and English, does Voxori speak other languages?

By default Voxori works in Dutch and switches to English. Another language we set up on request as bespoke work: we check together whether it works reliably for your callers and run a few test calls before it goes live. So we only turn a language on once it's actually there — we never promise a language that isn't.
